Fantastic Revelation: Amazon's ME Streaming Series Is Set to Unfold Subsequent to the Events of the First Trilogy

From the time last year that it was publicly declared that Amazon would be developing a streaming series inspired by BioWare's Mass Effect universe, followers speculated if it had the courage to tell an unique story and refrain from centering around Commander Shepard, the player-crafted character from the original games. In a online update recently, they got their answer.

BioWare lead producer Mike Gamble affirmed the show would "delve into a fresh story within the series' chronology, and will be set subsequent to the initial trilogy." The post adds, "It won’t be a repetition of Commander Shepard’s story – as ultimately … that’s YOUR story, right?"

Apparently, this implies the show could be about the peoples of the Milky Way restoring the universe in the wake of ruin caused by the reapers. It might also be set hundreds of years in the future, like Mass Effect: Andromeda. "Following the original trilogy" leaves plenty for the creativity. Not any cast members have been declared so far, but Star Trek Beyond screenwriter Doug Jung was tapped to serve as showrunner and producer in June. Daniel Casey is additionally a author and producer on the project.

Concerning the upcoming Mass Effect title, Gamble's post doesn't share a lot of details. In response to the rumors and speculation that BioWare may be acquired as due to EA's $55 billion sale to outside backers, including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Gamble does stress "the upcoming Mass Effect project is in creation, and EA and BioWare remain devoted to presenting further tales in this universe."

BioWare is "heads-down and dedicated solely on Mass Effect," suggesting that the crew has "a lot of world to cover, numerous elements to develop, and numerous relationships to figure out" for the upcoming title. "We’re excited by what we’re building, and we guarantee you: once we’re set, it’ll be a great time to reveal."

Multiple characters are highlighted across the message, and combined they spell "URL Krogan N7." The meaning is unclear what this is referring to, even if it's undoubtedly suggesting something — the update finishes with a playful P.S. noting, "Disclaimer: there is zero secret project content to be gleaned by whatever I’m saying at present, I swear."

The Krogan race are featured in free illustrations EA published for followers to obtain in honor of N7 Day. Named "Internal Conflict," the picture displays multiple Krogan fighters in conflict. Paired with the "URL Krogan N7" hint, it's likely one more small clue on the path towards the upcoming Mass Effect.

Nov. 7 signifies N7 Day annually, a day for BioWare and Mass Effect enthusiasts to observe the sci-fi saga. It's typically when BioWare has teased the next recent game, for example in 2023 it displayed an N7 operative in a fashionable coat.
