19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He rescued four early chances in a close final set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
